We just finished a segment on visual representations of learning. We had a fairly passionate conversation about some of the 21st Century Skills- definition and linkages- and then tried to create visual represntations of the ways they fit together. These were our choices of tools:

My group picked wordle- I think because we recognized that there was inherent messiness in the conversation. Our results got lost in the ether, but I made another one for my own experience with P21 and the CSP. It’s small, but I think you get the idea.
We also explored a visual ranking tool that’s not only free, but also wicked cool. It allowed us to work in small groups, prioritizing the elements of good adult learning and making comments on why we put things in different places. Then we could look at the work of other groups in the room (without leaving our own tables!) and see where we were the same and different from the others in the room. I could see so much potential for this in terms of chunking challenges, evaluating process and reflection. It’s worth a look!
Tomorrow morning is the big presentation- but not too big. I only get 5 minutes. I’m writing a challenge to share with the group- a challenge to help them understand what the CSP is, not a challenge to actually engage in. Hope I’m able to represent us well. Wish me luck.
